Soil Rehabilitation

There are three decidedly beneficial values for the creation and maintenance of a healthy topsoil derived from Natural Agriculture: no tilling, reintroduction of organic matter and chop & drop. Those values simply suggest to promote natural processes in order for organisms to establish themselves and ameliorate the soil.

Seedbombs consist mainly of clay soil mixed with seeds. Different seeds grow reacting to seasonal changes and soil quality making them vital for rehabilitating damaged soils. The plants growing from this process have many applications: suppression of harmful weeds, nitrogen establishment, roots that break and aerate the soil, as well as coverage and creation of topsoil.

The roots of trees are encouraged to reach deeper by placing organic matter into their pits. Pieces of wood soaked in water, twigs, grass and other materials hold humidity, invite insects and contribute to the much needed air flow.
