This project explores a different aspect of sustainability: the transformation and utility of materials salvaged from gardens or wilderness. Using traditional methods, we create functional and sustainable household utensils from reclaimed wood. The goal is to encourage people to engage with the material more deeply; appreciating the tone, shape, size, weight, pattern, and even the smell of the wood. By treating wood as a living organism, rather than a manufactured product. We invite people to slow down and explore the tactile experience with all five senses; allowing them to reconnect with wood as a living material.
